1. Your rights: All people, regardless of immigration status, have rights under the U.S.Constitution. The Immigrant Legal Resource Center’s (ILRC) Red Cards help people assert their rights and defend themselves in many situations, such as when I.C.E. agents go to a home.
2. You have the right to stay silent: When interrogated by federal immigration officials, remain calm and hand your Red Card to the officer. Remember that you do not have to answer any questions.
3. Ask to speak with an attorney: You have the right to speak with an attorney. Do not talk until your attorney is present.
