Superintendent Message

Dear Students, Families, Faculty, and Staff of the Westminster School District (WSD),

I am enthusiastic to extend a warm welcome to all as we embark on the exciting 2023-2024 school year! This year we will roll-out our new Strategic Plan (2023-29): WSD INSPIRES!, which is a six year roadmap that will elevate our district to become the premier PreK-8 school district in Orange County. Our core values - Ignite, Connect, Create, Trust, Elevate, and Model are the collective commitments we will follow as we fulfill the new WSD Vision and Mission. Whether you're returning to our District or joining us for the first time, I am confident that this year holds incredible promise, growth, and success for each and every member of our educational community.

As we return to our schools, I am reminded of the strength, resilience, and excellence that define our WSD family. Our community has faced adversity together, celebrated triumphs together, and now, we have the unique opportunity to learn and thrive together as we Inspire each other to reach our highest levels of achievement.

Our dedicated educators have been working all summer to prepare an innovative and rigorous curriculum that sparks curiosity, ignites passions, and fosters a love for learning. We are committed to providing exceptional, distinctive and engaging learning experiences where every student can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. From engaging classroom experiences to innovative extracurricular activities, we are devoted to nurturing well-rounded individuals who are ready to make a positive impact on the world.

Parents and guardians, your unwavering support and partnership are invaluable to us. Your involvement in your child's education is a cornerstone of their success, and we invite you to actively participate in their learning journey.  Our award-winning schools and student success are also due to the dedicated and accomplished people who work together to achieve strategic goals and objectives.  The WSD faculty members are lifelong learners, demonstrating high levels of care and commitment to students.  Support staff is dedicated to serve in a multitude of functions to ensure successful operations of our award-winning schools, and the leadership team acknowledges the value of personnel development, supporting one another and modeling servant leadership. Each of our employees inspires excellence and connects with our diverse community to ensure student success.

To our exceptional faculty and staff, your dedication and commitment are truly the driving force behind WSD leading the way as the premier Prek-8 grade school district in Orange County. Your constant dedication to pursue excellence through distinctive, rigorous, and engaging academic programs motivates our students and helps shape their future. I want to express my deep gratitude for your hard work and your willingness to go above and beyond.

I encourage you all to keep communication lines open and engage in the various events, councils, committees, and activities we have planned throughout the year. Your active participation will contribute to building trust and earning the confidence of our educational community. As we step into this new school year, let us embrace the challenges as opportunities for growth and the successes as benchmarks of our collective efforts. Together, we will continue to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.

Once again, welcome back to the Westminster School District for the 2023-2024 school year! Let us approach this year with a growth mindset, perseverance, and a shared commitment to the success of each and every student. Together, we will make this year unforgettable.
