Welcome to the Office of the Superintendent
Gunn Marie Hansen, Ph.D. serves as Superintendent of Westminster School District, leading more than 7,800 students across 17 school sites in Orange County. Under her leadership, all three WSD middle schools earned the 2025 California and National Schools to Watch designation, a first for any district in the country, and thirteen WSD elementary schools were named among the Best Elementary Schools in California for 2025 by U.S. News & World Report.
Dr. Hansen holds a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Administration from the University of Southern California and brings that grounding in research and systems thinking to her focus on strategic planning, curriculum, fiscal operations, and educational technology. She is committed to building a school system rooted in trust, equity, and connection for every student and family WSD serves.
