Online Credential Renewal

Effective January 1, 2007, renewals for Clear Professional Credentials or 30-Day Sub Permits are accepted online only. Paper submissions will be returned by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Click on “RENEW ONLINE” (orange lettering) and follow the directions.

Cost: $102.50. Only MasterCard or Visa will be accepted. (You may purchase a prepaid MasterCard or Visa card with this limit for renewal purposes.)

Submission: You may submit up to one year in advance using the current renewal date on your credential as the start date.

Late Submission: The renewal cannot be backdated. For example, if your renewal date is February 1 and you apply online on February 2, your renewal will be considered late and the county will hold your paycheck. Late submissions will require applying for a 30-Day Substitute Permit at the Orange County Department of Education for an additional $55.00 fee. This cannot be done online.
