District Advisory Committee (DAC) and District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

The District Advisory Council (DAC) and District English Learner Advisory Council (DELAC) are two essential parent committees that meet multiple times each year to advise, engage, and collaborate with District personnel in support of district-wide initiatives. Both committees meet together in a communications forum to receive current information regarding programs, new initiatives, and other issues important to the education of all students. Information and reports shared during these meetings are intended to be communicated back to each school site through School Site Council (SSC) meetings.

District Advisory Committee (DAC)

The purpose of the District Advisory Committee (DAC) is to serve in an advisory capacity to the school district and act as a communication link between schools and the community.

District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

The purpose of the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) is to advise the district's governing board on programs and services for English Learners. California school districts with 51 or more English Learners are required to establish a DELAC.

DELAC delegates have the opportunity to:

• Support implementation of the English Learner Master Plan
• Advise staff on programs and services for English Learners
• Support development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)
• Promote school activities
• Provide feedback on new school programs and initiatives
• Encourage district-wide unity through participation and support
• Serve as a liaison between the district, school sites, and families

District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) Meeting Schedule
