Westminster School District has an outstanding early childhood education program located at every elementary campus in the district. The goal of the preschool program is to prepare every child for kindergarten success and beyond by providing a seamless instructional transition from preschool to elementary school.

In addition to providing students with high quality teacher-directed learning activities, WSD’s preschool classrooms are technology-rich learning environments equipped with SMART Boards and other digital learning technologies. Elementary Schools

Westminster School District’s elementary schools provide students with the foundation for success in middle school, high school, college, and beyond by inspiring them to become life-long learners.

Many of the elementary schools in Westminster School District have received State and National recognition. Most recently, Clegg Elementary School was recognized as a California Distinguished School during the 2011-12 school year – the first year it was eligible for such recognition!

Students at all WSD elementary schools aare engaged in a comprehensive curriculum for English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education. In addition, Second Language Learners receive high-quality instruction in English Language Development (ELD).

Westminster School District is especially proud of our commitment to continuing to provide students with rich experiences related to the Arts. Each School has an Arts Advantage Coordinator to support the implementaiton of fine arts and performing arts on campus.
