Every school participated in the Kindness Campaign, challenging each student to perform acts of kindness every day. Schools participated in fundraisers such as Pennies for Puppies, Socktober, and Change for Hearts. Students promoted kindness by creating Positive Post-It Walls in their schools, participating in Cross-Age Tutoring, and helping family members and friends. There were too many heartwarming acts of kindness demonstrated by students to list but typical examples include adopting a rescue dog, befriending a new student, helping a baby brother learn to ride a bike and offering to do extra chores at home.
“It was an honor to participate in such a worthwhile campaign. Our students and staff found that kindness really is contagious and we will continue to encourage displays of kindness each day,” stated Superintendent Dr. Marian Kim Phelps.
