Families looking for a school district that combines strong academics, student support, and meaningful opportunities are invited to explore Westminster School District's Open Enrollment program.

From our youngest learners in our full-time 4-month-old, preschool, transitional kindergarten, and kindergarten programs to our award-winning middle schools, Westminster School District is committed to creating pathways for student success at every stage of learning.

Students benefit from free breakfast and lunch, free transportation, free 1:1 student devices, before- and after-school child care, highly qualified teachers, and engaging programs in STEM, arts, music, and technology. Families also have access to school counselors, mental health resources, special education services, leadership opportunities, athletics, extracurricular activities, and a strong calendar of family engagement events.

Those opportunities are built upon the values that define Westminster School District. Open enrollment offers families the ability to choose a school community that meets their needs. Our dual language immersion programs prepare students for a multilingual future. After-school programs are available across the district. Our preschool programs help establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Students learn in schools recognized for excellence in education, award-winning anti-bullying efforts, and a commitment to maintaining one of the safest elementary school environments in Orange County.

Families interested in joining Westminster School District can learn more and enroll online.

Enrollment and student support are connected: the same commitment shaping our enrollment options also shapes how the district plans, staffs, and funds programs for students already enrolled. Accurate, up-to-date family information makes that planning possible which is where Data Confirmation comes in.

Data Confirmation Opens August 3

For current families, another important milestone is approaching. Annual Data Confirmation opens August 3 through the Aeries Parent Portal.

Every year, families are asked to review and update important household information. While it may seem like a routine administrative task, Data Confirmation plays a significant role in helping schools plan services, access resources, and advocate for students.

Household size, income eligibility, housing circumstances, military-connected family status, emergency contacts, and other demographic details all help ensure district records stay accurate and complete. Schools also use this information in aggregate to determine eligibility for a variety of state and federal programs supporting students and families.

In California, funding programs consider student demographics and family information when allocating resources to school districts. The Local Control Funding Formula, for example, provides additional support for districts serving students with specific needs, including English learners, low-income students, and foster youth. Accurate data helps ensure schools receive resources intended to support those students.

Family information can also help support programs that directly benefit students, including expanded learning opportunities such as after-school and summer enrichment programs. California's Expanded Learning Opportunities Program provides funding for before-school, after-school, summer, and intersession programming designed to support the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of students.

Even with California's Universal Meals program providing free breakfast and lunch to all students, accurate family data continues to help schools qualify for and maximize available state and federal resources that support nutrition programs and student services. Visit the step-by-step guide to successfully complete this important process.

Why Your Information Matters and How It's Protected

When families complete Data Confirmation, they help create a clearer picture of the needs within each school community.

District leaders use the information to make informed decisions about staffing, student support services, academic programs, family outreach, campus resources, and future planning. It also strengthens applications and reporting for grants and funding opportunities, bringing additional resources into Westminster classrooms and programs. Just as importantly, complete and accurate information helps ensure families receive communications and services relevant to their needs.

For some families who may feel hesitant about sharing personal information, the District takes that concern seriously.

Privacy laws protect the information collected during Data Confirmation, which is used for educational planning, student services, program eligibility, emergency preparedness, and funding purposes. Secure systems handle all family-submitted data, and none of it is shared publicly. Much of what's used for funding and reporting gets compiled and reviewed in larger groups rather than tied to individual families.

Just a few minutes spent on Data Confirmation helps support programs, services, and opportunities benefiting students across the district.
