About
The Westminster School District serves nearly 8,200 elementary and middle school students across 17 schools, encompassing the communities of Westminster, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, and Midway City.
WSD has received a plethora of awards, including the California Pivotal Practice awards for 13 of its schools and the district office. Additionally, WSD has been the recipient of the CSBA Golden Bell, Title I Schools, and California Distinguished School awards for the past few years. They further solidifying its status as an educational trailblazer.
WSD has gone above and beyond traditional academic offerings. Specialized programs such as Vietnamese and Spanish Dual Language Immersion, computer science, GATE (Gifted and Talented Education), AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), STEM/STEAM, and College & Career Readiness have been integrated into the curriculum. Notably, the district launched the state's first Vietnamese Language Dual Immersion program in 2015, paving the way for a truly unique and inclusive educational experience.
