WSD Welcomes 2 New Administrators

Ms. Pierre has 29 years of experience in public education and she is described by her previous Superintendent as an “individual who is regarded as a talented, well-respected, and intellectual leader who has a tremendous passion for the students she serves.” Ms. Pierre comes to us from Claremont Unified School District where she served as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.  She has also worked as a director of educational services, principal, vice principal, curriculum specialist for English learner services, resource teacher and classroom teacher.  Ms. Pierre holds a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from Queens College and a Bachelor of Art in Sociology and Elementary Education from Hunter College.

Ms. Yahya has 28 years of experience in public education and she is described by colleagues as “intelligent, innovative, and a problem solver.” She was previously the Coordinator of Services for English Learners at Saddleback Valley Unified School District and the Orange County Department of Education.  She has also served as a bilingual resource teacher, grant coordinator, staff developer and Spanish immersion and bilingual teacher. Ms. Yahya holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of Pepperdine and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the Universidad de las Americas.
