The Saturday Academy is a program that allows the district to recover funding lost from student absences through a voluntary, four-hour enrichment program. Students receive instruction in core subjects along with specialized tutoring, access to educational technology, physical education, arts integration and more. Twice as many students attended the academy in the 2014-15 school year than in the 2013-14 school year. This past year, we recovered 4,601 instructional days for a net profit of $123,590.00. Half of the net profit ($61,795.00) will go directly to the school sites to support their local programs. For the 2015-16 school year, the Saturday Academy will be held on November 7th, January 23rd, March 12th, April 23rd, and May 21st.
